MARSHAL / PRACTICAL GUIDE

Updated

What should a jewellery website show before asking for an enquiry?

A visitor may love a jewellery photograph and still be unsure what to do next. Can they ask about the piece, arrange a viewing or buy it online? Settle that question first. Glamour Glitz, a Marshal client website, shows collections and an appointment enquiry route. It is an example you can inspect, rather than a sales-growth claim.

01

Choose the next step your business can fulfil

If every piece has a maintained price, stock position and delivery process, checkout may suit the task. If availability, selection or a viewing needs a conversation, lead to an enquiry or appointment request. Call it a request when someone still has to confirm it. A form submission should not imply that a date or piece has been reserved.

02

Choose photography for decisions as well as atmosphere

A collection image can establish a mood, but the buyer also needs to inspect the piece. Prepare a clear full view, useful close-ups and a view that helps explain scale where appropriate. Check that photographs represent the actual item or clearly describe what is illustrative. For the mobile layout, decide which image should appear first and whether important details survive the crop.

03

Answer the questions the image cannot

Agree the product information your business can verify: collection, item identifier, material description, dimensions, included pieces and care details where relevant. Do not infer composition or quality from colour. If a detail needs confirmation, say so and give the visitor a direct route to ask. Product copy should help someone choose, not repeat a decorative description on every item.

04

Let collections help a visitor narrow the choice

Use categories that match the real collection and buyer vocabulary. A visitor might start with a necklace set, earrings or a particular style. Avoid adding empty categories merely to fill the navigation. Check that each route leads to pieces a person can inspect, and that they can return to the collection without starting again.

05

Carry the piece into the enquiry

When an enquiry starts from a product, include the piece name or identifier and its page link. An illustrative request is: “I’m interested in item J-104. Is it available, and can I arrange a viewing in my city?” J-104 is an example, not a Glamour Glitz item. The goal is to give the team enough context to answer without asking the customer to find the same photograph again.

06

Keep an appointment request short and clear

Collect the details the business needs to follow up, and explain how the request is confirmed. The Glamour Glitz reference includes city and contact fields in its reservation enquiry. For your own site, decide whether a preferred date is helpful, who receives the request and how an unavailable time is handled. Do not promise a response window your team has not agreed.

07

Review the entire journey on a phone

Start from a collection, open a piece, inspect its photograph and reach the enquiry route. Check that the selected item stays identifiable and that the form has clear field labels and helpful errors. Review submitted-data handling with the person running the business. A polished hero image cannot compensate for a confusing last step.

Before we start

Does a jewellery website have to be an online store?

No. It can support product discovery and a useful enquiry or viewing request. The right scope depends on how the business confirms availability, selection, payment and fulfilment.

Does the Glamour Glitz example prove better sales?

No measured sales or conversion outcome is asserted. You can inspect the live collection presentation and enquiry route to judge the website work.
